The creator of this villa is Axel Munthe, author of the famous novel (The Story of Saint Michele). It is a majestic building of great stylistic freedom enclosed by a garden.

The Blue Grotto;
The Blue Grotto is the symbol of the island and brings a very long history with it. In 1826 was described in the stories of the German writer Augusto Kopisch, who spoke about its singular beauty in his novel. The cave has very ancient origins and it was certainly a nymphaea of one of the richest houses of the coast. Its light color is a miracle of nature.
